**In the calculations at the bottom, I like to show the sums of the columns so that I can see how many words total I have written, the total number of words I would have written if I had met my goals, and how many words behind I am in that goal. This can be useful for things like NaNoWriMo (which is the word count goal I have listed here). However, I also find it useful if I am writing up against a specific deadline that is not flexible, be that self-imposed or imposed by an agent or editor.
